“Throughout my life, I’ve always considered myself an independent person. I’ve spent time traveling, I’ve worked to develop my own appreciation for my surroundings, and I’ve been energized by meeting new people from all around the world.
With every new project, I see it as a challenge. I strive each and every day to continue to build upon what I’ve done in the past. Research always leads the way, and from there, I bring in my design thinking ability, where I’ll come up with a concept and see it through to completion. Whether it be through fashion design, app design, or through my own personal creative pursuits, I’m proud to give it my all and continue working to better myself and my abilities.”

Stella Achenbach is a dedicated, skilled, and accomplished independent designer with years of experience in the fashion industry. As a professional designer and a creative thinker, Stella is constantly placing herself at the cutting-edge of the design industry. With 6 years in the industry as a freelance designer, Stella has worked to make a name for herself, and she continuously explores new cross-disciplinary opportunities in design thinking to further her growth both as a professional and as a person.
Education
Born in Germany, Stella has always maintained a curious nature. With a knack for creativity, a natural inquisitive nature that allowed her to permanently thrive for new solutions. With her strong sense of empathy, she is constantly looking to find new ways to connect to the world and those around her. After spending her childhood in Germany, Stella moved to Vienna, Austria to study in the masterclass for fashion at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Stella was awarded for her graduate collection in 2013 the Swarovski Elements Award.
Working and Teaching
She moved to Düsseldorf to launch her career as an independent fashion designer. After spending time creating and working as an independent contractor for a number of different organizations, she moved to Lima, Peru, where she currently resides. Recently she has taken up a part-time lectureship at the private Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola.
Today, Stella maintains her identity as an independent designer. However, her interest in cross-disciplinary knowledge has allowed her to break out into new fields and emerging technologies, which is something that she values highly. As a firm believer that technology is the way of the future, Stella has consistently used different forms of it to create her designs. In learning her way around cutting-edge design tools and software applications, she also became interested in application design and 3D modeling.
Most recently, Stella has received the WORTH Partnership Award of the European Commission for developing the structure for a kid’s mobile application. For Stella, these new developments have allowed her to take her design skills into the digital realm, where she puts best practices to use to ensure a seamless user-interface and an engaging design that keeps users interested in each application.
Throughout nearly everything that she does, Stella Achenbach is as dedicated and as passionate as they come. And with years of successful experience as an independent designer, Stella has lent her expertise to a number of different projects, including fashion projects, books, accessories, handbags, and so much more. A true master of her craft, Stella continues to further develop her skillset to ensure that she is always positioned to meet the demands of her growing client base.
Personal Life
Outside of her professional life as an independent designer, Stella is an avid traveler who has years traveling throughout Europe and visiting different cities, along with living in Vienna, New York, Düsseldorf, and Lima. As Stella resides in Lima, she recently started to explore the South American continent and its cultures.
Always looking to further expand her knowledge and develop her understanding of the world around her, she can frequently be found reading up on politics and technology. Along with her passion for technology, Stella enjoys seeing everything that the world of mobile technology has to offer. She is keen to test out new applications and playing video games with the latest-generation hardware.
And as a true creative, Stella loves writing poetry in her free time. Never one to shy away from an opportunity to create, she takes pleasure in using words to express her creativity as well, something that she considers a powerful tool all throughout her professional pursuits.
